In the Mirror Card

Hello to everyone from a windy but bright and sunny UK. I think this is the lull before the storm as the very cold weather is forcast to be coming back with a vengeance.

The shape of this card is in the Art Deco style with the fold at the top and the paper pieced figure is using the mirror to apply her lipstick. I used silver mirri card for mirror but it looks more gold in the photo for some reason.
The template can be found here - as always thanks for looking.

My Facebook Page

A few people keep asking if I have a Facebook page and as from today I have. Haven't done Facebook before so I haven't a clue what I'm doing really but it's up and running now !! This is the link and there is a button on the sidebar for anyone who might be interested.

Christmas Scene Popup Freebie

This popup card will probably be the last Christmas freebie for this year. Some of the fold lines are quite small so I cut it on 160 gsm cardstock to make crisp folds - I don't think anything heavier would work very well. I hope you like it.

I've had some lovely emails over the last few days regarding my designs and freebies so a big thank you to those of you who have taken the time to get in touch or who have left a comment.

A comment would be appreciated if you download the template

Poinsettia Window Card

You'll probably have gathered that I love Poinsettias and this Window Aperture card includes a layered one. I added glitter to the red leaves for a bit of Christmas sparkle. The basic template can be used for other occasions as well depending on how you dress it up. You can find the template here - hope you like it.

And here's another

This is a photo sent in by Jean, another of my lovely customers, of a card she's made with the Hanging Snowflake freebie. I love the idea of adding the  little photo - this would be ideal for some of my pet loving friends so thank you Jean for the idea.

Re Hanging Snowflake Freebie

Just thought I would show you this photo sent to me my by my lovely Blogger friend Annie of the card she has made using the Hanging Snowflake freebie. I'm sure you'll agree that her interpretation of the template is fabulous. Annie makes really beautiful cards so why don't you check out her blog to see her creations. If you look in the Gallery you'll see more photos sent in by some of wonderful customers.

I'd also like to say a big thank those of you who take the time to leave me comments, I really do appreciate it.

Layered Scalloped Card

This is a card I've made for the Cameo Spotlight Challenge no 7 which is to use the colours above. Really struggled to come up with something but here's my effort which is a tent style card.  The card and layers were cut on my Cameo and embossed using one of my Cuttlebug folders.

Shaped Gatefold Card

Thought I would have a break from Christmas Cards so here is a gatefold type card that I did yesterday. I used one of my large embossing folders on the base card to give some dimension then just added some stick on pearls to the centres of the flowers. Hope you like it and thanks for looking

Star Edge Card Freebie

Good morning everyone, hope you are all well and that those of you in the US are safe from the storm - it looks horrendous.

Here is another little freebie for you. I wanted to keep it simple so just decorated it using one of my embossing folders but I guess it would look nice with digi images, or whatever embellishments take your fancy. If you use it I would love you to leave a comment or to email some photos to go in my Gallery

Halloween Project

This is a table decoration I've done for the Cameo Spotlight Challenge No 6 which is a Halloween theme. There are 3 layers and I put a battery tealight in the middle but it doesn't show up too well in the photo. I used some free vector images from here and made them in to cut files for my Cameo. The backgroud is a free vector image too but I'm not too sure about copyright so to be on the safe side I guess I had better not share this file. Hope you like it though.

Some Christmas Cards

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to my new followers. It's a while since I posted as I just don't seem to have had much spare time lately but I managed to do these cards at the weekend. They are what I call my 'quick' Christmas cards as they just need cutting out and backing paper put behind the apertures. I actually use the backing paper as the card insert by printing the greeting on the reverse of the paper, folding it, cutting to size and then sticking it  inside the card. I think I shall add some sparkle to them later but I've run out at the moment.

Hope you like them and I am just finishing a little freebie for you which I will post later.

Peace & Joy Christmas Card & variations on the Flower Outline Card

Been cracking on with my Christmas Cards today and managed to make another 30 mostly all the same. I got a bit bored so decided to work on a new design and this is what I came up with. I like to add a bit of sparkle to my Christmas cards so when I had cut the Poinsettias I painted them with some glitter glaze which I think gives a nice effect. I didn't have a suitable backing paper so made one in Adobe Illustrator using the flourish and flower from the template. As usual this is all cut on my wonderful Cameo machine - I seldom use anything else these days and it's saved me a fortune in buying toppers, dies etc.

These two cards are variations of the Flower Outline card from my last post.

Would love to know what you think of them.

Flower Outline Card

This is a card I have done for the Cameo Spotlight Challenge No 5 which is to use the colours Rich Red, Deep Orange and Harvest Gold.

I have to say these aren't colours I would normally use but the card is certainly quite eye-catching !! I made the flower design myself and quite like it so will probably try and incorporate in another card.

Freebie Xmas Tree Border Card

Here's a Friday freebie for you. Very easy to put together - I added glamour dust to the little trees to add a little sparkle and used one of my embossing folders to give a bit of texture.. Hope you like it - please leave me a comment if you download the file.

Christmas Wishes Baubles Card

Hi everyone - another busy week with not much tine for crafting but finally finished this card this afternoon. I have so many Christmas cards to make that I really must put a day aside and get stuck in. I used mirror effect card for the baubles and it hasn't really photographed too well - the real thing looks much better than the photo.

BOO Halloween Card

Here's another design I've done today, this time for Halloween.  I hate spiders but I think the one on this card is quite cute !!

You can find the template here on my website. Spiders web paper included.

Christmas Cascade Card

Hi everyone. It's a chilly, windy day here so a good excuse to do some crafting and this is what I have come up with this morning. I printed the patterned paper on to both sides of my cardstock as the cascade effect looked a bit odd with it printed on just one side. I painted glitter glaze on the poinsettias to add a bit of sparkle.

The template is available on  my website and the papers are included.

Art Deco Handbag Card Freebie

This is a card I have made for the latest Challenge at the Cameo Spotlight which is to use triangles. I think this should fit the bill as it is made up almost entirley of various triangles.

I just added some stick on gems for a bit of bling. You can download the file from the links below and if you do I would really appreciate if you would leave a comment as it makes sharing worthwhile.

T Shirt Card Freebie

Well I got back from my holidays last Sunday feeling nice and relaxed as we had a fantastic time with gorgeous weather. Didn't feel quite so relaxed on Monday when we found we had a very, very, crackly phone line and no broadband !! A guy came out to fix the problem on Friday and although the phone is fine now the broadband speed is so slow it's almost impossible to use and we have to wait until Tuesday for another visit.

Anyway I notice I have a few new followers while I've been away so a very warm welcome to you.

The current Cameo Spotlight Challenge is to use the colours Slate Blue/Grey, Beige and Sage Green so here is my offering, my own designer T Shirt !!

This is a very basic design  made by just welding some rectangles together for the body and sleeves then duplicating and flipping vertically and welding again. All that's needed then is to draw an ellipse for the neck and centre it vertically and horizontally on the shirt. If anyone would like to make use of the file you download it from the links below but please leave a comment if you do.

Holidays

Just to say I am going on holiday for 2 weeks to the lovely Greek Island of Thassos  so this will be my last post for a while and of course I shan't be able to visit and comment on your lovely blogs. I shall have a lot of catching up todo when I get back !!

Heart Aperture Card

First post for a while as I have been busy with other things and time just flies.

For this card I created a heart shape frame with the couple in the middle and made two copies. I used the inside of one copy to make the card aperture, the second I cut in black card and layered it on to the aperture. On top of this I attached the filigree heart which I posted as a freebie back in July. I think it would make a nice Anniversary, Wedding or Engagement card by just changing the words - what do you think ?
I made the heart backing paper in my Illustrator program.

Cameo Spotlight challenge - Swimmer Aperture Card

This is the card I've made for the first Cameo Spotlight Challenge. The theme is Summer so I think this fits the bill. I found the template for the swimmer in a craft magazine and I scanned it in to Photoshop so I could save it as a jpeg then autotraced it in Studio. I also did the waves in Studio just by drawing rectangles the width of my card base but with varying depths then adding extra points to the tops using the edit points tool making sure that  'make curve' was selected. Then it was just a question of moving the handles round to make the wave shapes. The sun and sentiment are dxf files I made in Illustrator. All I had to do then was make a frame to form the card base and weld the various parts together to make the aperture. The backing was something I had in my stash.

Double Flower Aperture Card

Been playing around with swirls again and this is the result. The paper I use on the front is one I made some time ago for another card but I think it suits this one too. I thought some text would look good behind the aperture so came up with Happy Birthday design  Hope you like it, let me know what you think.

Two Christmas Cards

Many thanks for your lovely comments  on the Butterfly card - it's really  nice to get feedback on my freebies and makes posting them worthwhile. Welcome too to my new followers.

I know it's still July but you have to start sometime with the dreaded C cards. I have to admit that I'm struggling a bit for ideas so I thought I would do a Diorama and a Shelf Card as I think they are a bit different but still fold flat for posting. They are both sprinkled with  glitter as was my little cat who was giving me a helping paw !!

Butterfly Card Freebie Cutting File

I really enjoyed making this card as it was so easy to put together so I thought I would share it with you. I decided to do it as white on white and used one of my cuttlebug folders to give some texture. I had to join the flower folder as it wasn't long enough for my card so have hidden the join with a layered strip of card.

If you download the file please leave a comment and if you make and post a project with the template please link back to my blog.  Personal use only please.

Swirly Cut Out Card

This is a card I've been working on today. I don't feel guilty as I did the housework first !! I didn't have the right colour ribbon to match the flower so I decided to make my own paper bow and I think it's come out quite well. I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder on the ribbon 'band' and also the centre panel. For the card insert I used one of my freebie papers

LIM Challenge week 76 - 3 of anything on one layer

Think I still have time to get this in to Less is More Challenge, 3 of anything on one layer. The little cat is purchased vector image to which I have added the Christmas hat. I used Craft Artist for the speech bubbles and baubles.

Music Border Freebie

Been a bit busy lately and not had much time for posting so first of all I would like to say welcome to my new followers - nice to see my numbers creeping up a bit. I did promise a few days ago that I would post the cutting files I used for the Flourish Heart card so here they are.

Art Deco Shaped Aperture Card

I love all things Art Deco and here is another addition to my range of cards in that theme. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the top mat, must have had the folder for ages but don't think I've used it before but I thought it went quite well with the backing paper. To attach the feather I used peel offs, something else I've got loads of but seldom use these days. One day I must have a clear out !!

The cutting template can be found here

Many thanks for looking

Sleeping Cat Aperture Card

I donate a lot of the cards I make to our local Cats Protection Group to help with their fund-raising and I made this one with them in mind. I hasten to add that my cat, Douglas, was not my inspiration as he much prefers to sleep in his favourite chair !! The template is available on my website and the backing paper is included.

Mini Roses Card

This is one of the cards I have made over the weekend featuring little rolled roses. I decorated the edges of the roses with glitter. I should have added it before I rolled them up but I forgot so just had to dab it on afterwards but I don't think it looks too bad.

You can find the template here and a box to fit the card is also included.

Flourish Heart Frame & Topper Freebie

Baby Girl Card

I love paper piecing so I couldn't resist the Challenge over at Less is More. For this card I cut out the Giraffes twice in brown and pink card then cut  holes in the pink card so the brown would show through for the Giraffe's markings. All I had to do then was to stick the two layers together. I used Craft Artist for the backing using a freebie digi pack from Computer Scrapbook.com. It's worth checking out as there lots of lovely freebies there.

Birds & Butterflies Cascade Card

I really enjoy designing these Cascade type cards and for this one I've used Birds and Butterflies sitting among leaves all of which were cut on my Cameo.

I am entering this in the Anything Goes challenge at Let's Craft & Create

Three New Cards

Hi everyone. I have had a busy few days but have managed to find time to get back to some crafting today between ironing and doing some housework and have come up with these three cards and backing papers. The colour on the photos is not quite right as I have had to buy a new camera and I haven't quite sussed out the settings for indoor photos yet - need to practice a bit more I think. I coloured the flowers on the middle card using promarkers not something I'm very adept at but I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.

Thanks to everyone who have left comments on my other cards - I really do appreciate it.

The templates are available on my website
