Happy Christmas

Well I'm back from my holiday - it went by so quickly but we loved La Palma and it was lovely to get some nice warm sunshine. A bit of a shock to arrive back in the UK to freezing cold weather but at least it's a little milder now !! I would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. A special thank you to all my customers for buying my templates and also to those who have been kind enough to take the time to leave comments on my blog which was another new venture for 2011.

Giant Snowflake Card Freebie

This will be my last freebie before Christmas as my holiday starts on Friday and by the time I'm back getting ready for Christmas will put crafting on the back burner I think. We have had snow here today so that inspired this card - hope you like it - I think it would look nice with some glitter on it so if anyone makes it I would love for you to send me some photos and I'll post them when I get back.

Hanging Baubles Card

Finished this today - took me a while to decide what colours to use but I think it looks quite traditional in the red and green. I used some gems and bits of peel of border to finish it off along with the bows. You can find it here

Three New Cards

Just put these up on my website - two more Christmas Cards and a New Baby Card. I keep saying I've done Christmas but still keep coming up with more !! I used Glamour Dust to give some sparkle to the Chimney Card and I ran the JOY letters on the baby card and the letters on the Noel card  through my Cuttlebug using the swiss dots folder. I think I have almost worn that folder out as I use more than any other I've got.

My New Best Friend ....

....is a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. I was determined not to be tempted as my Silhouette SD is only a few months old but the reviews were so good and the thought of the 12" cutting area and the ability to cut much thicker card won me over so I ordered one on Wednesday, it arrived yesterday and I have been happily playing with it ever since and it is brilliant.I have been using the Studio software for some time now and it is so much better than Robomaster once you get used to it plus it has the bonus of being able to open gsd files as well. If anyone with a Robo/Silhouette hasn't tried it yet I would urge you to give it a go. There is a link to the free download on the right hand side of my blog and it can be used with older models of the Robo/Silhouette.  My little one will now be winging it's way to ebay I think as I don't really need both although I feel a bit sad about letting it go as it worked really well for me.

A freebie for quick Christmas Cards

I make all the Christmas Cards  I send but I have to make so many that I have to admit that only close friends and relatives get 'special' cards for all the others I just do something simple that I can easily repeat. This is what I'm doing this year using my Cuttlebug and a simple word topper. The Embossing folder I used is by Crafts Too and I bought mine on ebay, There are some lovely designs - the one I used is called Christmas Tree Frame. Click on the links below if you would like the Noel template.

Starry Noel Card

This is my latest Christmas design - thought I would try a different shape rather than the usual square or rectangle and am quite pleased with the result. You can find it here on my website. I think I'm going to have a break from Christmas now and try to think of something else to design.

Freebie Christmas Card

Christmas designs are all I seem to be doing at the moment so I thought I would share this freebie template with you. I think it would look quite nice with some sparkly paper behind the tree but didn't have any to hand. Found the ribbon in my stash and thought it just finished it off.

Last two cards for this week

Has quite a lot to do this week so haven't had much time for designing but I managed to do these two cards today when I should really have been doing some ironing !! To finish off the Christmas Card I put some glitter on the berries and cut up some peel off borders to give some dimension to the leaves. I was going to use a silver pen but the peel offs seemed easier. Both the templates are available on my website

More Christmas Cards

Seem to be on a roll with Christmas designs at the moment. I painted some glitter glaze on the Poinsettias on the Step card although it doesn't show up very well in the photograph. I think I might add some sparkle to the snow in the Winter Wonderland Card. Both templates are available to purchase on my website.

Three New Christmas Designs

Found a bit of inspiration today and produced these new Christmas Card Templates. I used a little glitter on the Snowflake in the centre of the SNOW card and used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss the letters on the Christmas Word Card. On the Noel card I used a fine marker pen to give the snowman his eyes and stuck on tiny gems for his buttons. You can find the templates here and all are available in GSD, Studio and SVG formats

Freebie Flourishes

Thought these might be useful for adding decoration to cards or Scrapbook pages. Hope you like them.

Last Freebies for a while

I am going away on holiday on Sunday so this is my last offering for a couple of weeks. We are going to the Greek Island of Thassos where we shall hopefully find some lovely sunshine. Really looking forward to it although feeling guilty having to put our cat, Douglas, in to the cattery. This will be  the first time for him to be boarded without his mate Wallace who we had to have put to sleep in July so we are hoping he will be OK as he is a very sociable cat who loves company.

I have put a closed notice on my website as I'm not sure I'll be able to find any wifi connections and not sure that I want to anyway !!

Hope you like these free baby papers

Lattice Card with Spiral Roses

I'm really pleased with this design and it's very easy to make. I added as little glitter glue to the edges of the roses but it doesn't show up too well in the photo. Included with the file are some instructions on how to roll the spiral roses and a template for a box as this would definitely not go in an envelope !! You can purchase the template here

Some New Designs

Here are the latest additions to my website.

This is another in my Art Deco range - a step card this time and the matching backing paper is included in the file.

A shutter style card featuring tea and cake. The papers for the borders, teapot and cupcake holder are included.

An aperture card with a Parisienne theme. The flourish paper and large and small spot papers  are included in the file.
For this circle shaped card I used  my freebie pink embossed dots paper for the base card and I put the circle topper through my Cuttlebug to give it some texture. I used a pale lilac card for the centre layered flower then inked the edges with a stamp pad to give some definition and lighly curled the edges to give some shape.
